Methuen, MA — Methuen, Dominick " Rex" Campone, 88, died on September 14, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, after a brief illness. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., to the late Tomas and Adrianna (Muscillo) Campone, and grew up on 215th Street. His lifelong nickname "Rex" was given to him because of his time spent at the Rex Theater in New York.
About 50 years ago, he moved to Methuen with his wife, Frances. He retired from Malden Mills after 20 years service, and the established Dominick's Limousine Service, which he owned and operated locally. For over 10 years, he was very active with the Merrimack Nutritional Program as a driver for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed summers at York Beach, Maine, playing cards, scratch tickets, Sundays with his records, and most importantly his family. His grandchildren and family were his greatest enjoyment.
Rex is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances P.M. (Rotonnelli) Maimone Campone; son, James Maimone and his wife, Debra, of Methuen; daughter, Marie White of Stoneham; six sisters, Frances Fierro, Carmela Poricelli and her husband, Jerry, Tessie Campone, Lena Musco, and Mimi Palermo, all of New York, Marian Miller and her husband, Richard, of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Ralph, Kevin and Maxine White, and Angelo and Victoria Maimone; and many, many close nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Magno,Peter and Thomas; and three sisters, Lucy DiRuzza, Josephine Lungo and Rose Monaco.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 18, at 11 a.m., at St Lucy's Church, Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover.
