Elaine A. Deschene, 63

Methuen — Elaine A. Deschene, 63, of Methuen, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Massachusetts General Hospital following a short illness with her family by her side.

Born and educated in Lawrence, Mass., she was the daughter of Anthony and Dorothy (Beck) Grudenski and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Elaine was a secretary for 18 years with New England Neurological and after her retirement, she worked for Market Basket.

Elaine enjoyed gardening, traveling to the beach, taking trips to the mountains, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many pets, especially her German Shepherd, Hanz.

She leaves her husband of 47 years, Gerald J. Deschene of Methuen, Mass., and former building commissioner for the City of Methuen, and is also survived by her daughter, Barbara Hannagan of Methuen, Mass.; her son, Shawn Deschene of Derry, N.H.; grandchildren, Danielle and Corey Hannagan and Mattea Deschene; and great-grandchildren, Angeliah and John Chivers. Elaine also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
