Michael B. Benenati, 63

Houston, TX, formerly of Lawrence — Michael B. Benenati, 63, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Lawrence, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 2, 2013, at his home. He was born in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School and Phillips Academy in Exeter, N.H.

At Lawrence High School, he was a talented multi-sport athlete, playing basketball, football and baseball.

After graduating from Phillips Academy, Mr. Benenati served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Iceland and Germany. While he was an avid New York

Yankees fan, he was also a lifetime lover and follower of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics.

While living in Lawrence, he was active in local politics. Mr Benenati truly loved Lawrence and all its ethnic offerings. Whenever he was in the area, he would visit the local shops to bring his favorite food items back home with him.

Mr. Benenati worked in automotive and furniture sales, spending about 20 years with Rooms to Go in Florida, Texas, and Louisiana.

He moved to the southern states about 25 years ago and lived in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas, where he thoroughly enjoyed his time in the warm climate.

He had a zest for life, always had a smile on his face and lived life to its fullest. He was a loyal friend, a loving son, an awesome brother, and a wonderful uncle.

Mr. Benenati is survived by his parents, Frank and Rose (Brosco) Benenati of Salem, N.H.; and his sisters, Lynne Gioia and her husband, Ronald of Haverhill, Susan Gagne and her husband, Albert of Salem, N.H., and Maria Paladino and her husband, Frank of Methuen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
