Phyllis Sciuto, 87


Methuen — Phyllis (Seccareccio) Sciuto, 87, of Methuen, Mass., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, Mass., surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lawrence, Mass., to Peter and Elizabeth (Fournier) Seccareccio, she attended local schools. She worked at the former Western Electric Co. in North Andover for 35 years, until her retirement.

Phyllis was a quiet, easy-going lady, who was extremely independent, and whose passion for Bingo made her a familiar face at both Rockingham Park and Foxwoods. Her final years were spent happily living at Nevins Manor, Methuen, Mass., where she enjoyed socializing with her many friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mel, and grandson, Peter Cucchiara. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Gina Cucchiara and husband, Peter, of Lawrence, Phyllis Hurley and her husband, Jay, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her son, Mel and his wife, Sue, of Atkinson, N.H.; grandchildren, Jay Hurley and his wife, Joanne, Kyle Hurley, Anthony Cucchiara, Allison Derbyshire, and her husband, Steve, Jonathan, Amanda, and Meghan Sciuto; five great-grandchildren, Juliana and Victoria Hurley, Kallie, Olivia and Camden Derbyshire; several nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Joe and Millie Frasca, Joe Ardagna and Dorothy Sciuto.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, on Thursday August 1, at 10 a.m. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
