Methuen, MA — Rita G. (Hopkins) St. Paul, 80, of Methuen, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 29 at her home surrounded by family.
Rita was born in Lawrence July 10, 1932, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Slosek) Hopkins. She grew up in Lawrence and attended St. Rita’s Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She was employed by AT&T for many years before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles A. St. Paul; three daughters, Judy Anderson, Justine St. Paul and Ann Marie Smith and her husband Neil of Methuen; one son, Tim St. Paul and his wife Debbie of Manchester, N.H.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff and Joe Anderson, Ryan and Nichole St. Paul and Jessica and Ali Smith; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emma Anderson; one brother, Charles E. Hopkins, Jr. and his wife Maryrita of Ariz. and many nieces nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Bernard and one brother, Leonard Hopkins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends will honor and celebrate Rita’s life by gathering for a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 4, at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. Friends will be warmly received in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Wednesday October 3, from 4 -8 p.m. Those who wish to remember Rita by making a memorial contribution in her memory are kindly asked to consider the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
