Haverhill, MA — Sylvia E. (Morelli) Mansour-Potter, 85, a lifelong Haverhill resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 18, 2013, at the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her beloved husbands, Donald Potter and James Mansour.
Born in Haverhill on October 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes (D’Archangelo) Morelli. She attended Haverhill schools until the 12th grade, when she left to take care of her ailing mother and brother.
Sylvia had worked as a layout operator at Western Electric in North Andover, retiring after more than years 30 of service.
Her dedication to her family and her love of animals has been the most important part of her life, and has given her family many wonderful memories to treasure and hold dear to their hearts.
She is survived by a large adoring family, including her beloved son, David M. Mansour and wife, Katrina Kotler of Haverhill; her nieces and their families, Anita Rozzi of Brentwood, N.H., and Billy Dare of Las Vegas; three nephews and their families, Gary Morelli of East Hampstead, N.H., Rocky Morelli of Milford, N.H., and Randall Bracci of Wilton, N.H.; son-in-law, Donald Potter and family of Haverhill; and many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at Paul C. Rogers-Scatamacchia Family Funeral Home, 334 Main Street, Haverhill, on Wednesday, August 21, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services at the funeral home will be on Thursday morning at 11 a.m., followed by interment in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill. Donations in her memory may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
