Manchester, NH — Mr. Robert G. Gaumond, 89, of Manchester, N.H., died Thursday at Ridgewood Nursing Center in Bedford, N.H. Born in Lawrence, Mass., Mr Gaumond had been a Merrimack Valley resident all his life. He lived in Haverhill Mass., Merrimac, Mass., and finally in Manchester. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Gaumond fought at the Battle of the Bulge in the European theater, and in the African and Middle Eastern theater. He retired from Western Electric where he worked as a cable former. Mr. Gaumond attended St. Lucy Church, was a member of American Legion Post 134 in Merrimac, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the son of the late Albert and Alice (Boucher) Gaumond. Robert is survived by one daughter, Marianne and her husband, Warren Carroll of Merrimac; one son, Eric Gaumond and his wife, Nancy, of Manchester; one brother, Roger L. Gaumond of Haverhill; four grandchildren, Krista (Carroll) Duston and her husband, Robert, of Merrimac, Jason Carroll of Merrimac, Nicole (Gaumond) Pizon of Hampton, N.H., Jillian (Gaumond) Clement and her husband, Thomas, of Pine Mountain, Ga.; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Tuesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at St. Lucy Church in Methuen, and burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
