Salem, NH — Michael “Mike” Bouchard, 56, of Salem, N.H., passed away at home on Thursday, August 29, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lawrence, Mass., and was the son of the late Theophane “Joe” and Delia (Demers) Bouchard. Mike was raised and educated in Lawrence, and was a 1974 graduate of Greater Lawrence Vocational High School. He received a degree in electronic engineering from Northern Essex Community College, and worked in several Merrimack Valley electronic manufacturing companies. He became a licensed HVAC mechanic after attending the Peterson School of Engineering, and for the years prior to his illness worked at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Mike was a loving, and loved, member of a large extended family that now has an empty place in its heart. He was devoted to his sons, and enjoyed nothing more than having them together to watch Pats games, while simultaneously yelling at the television and burning meat on the grill. In his free time, he enjoyed watching, listening to, and reading all things sports, working on home projects (with varying degrees of success), and regaling family and friends with tales of his "adventures." His greatest joy was being called Pep by his cherished grandsons.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Susan Bouchard; sons, Luke Bouchard and his wife, Heather, of Salem, N.H., Keith Bouchard and his wife, Alison, of Salem, N.H., and stepson, James Gonsalves of Cosby, Tenn.; sisters, Lucille Hogan, Elaine Bouchard, Dolores Morse and her husband, Robert, Rosemarie Descoteaux and her husband, Ronald, Lorraine Armano and her husband, John, Evelyn Bouchard, Cecile Dube and her husband, Dennis, Pamela Lecroix and her husband, Richard, and Donna Guilmette and her husband, Bert; brothers, Arthur Bouchard, and Maurice Bouchard and his wife, Cecile; grandsons, Cooper, Desmond, Ryan, and Kyanite; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mike is predeceased by a brother, Roland Bouchard; nephew, Scott Lacroix; and brother-in-law, Thomas Hogan. Mike also leaves his canine companions, Dixie and Boomer.
