Samuel P. Caliento, 97


North Andover — Samuel P. Caliento, 97, of North Andover, passed away Tuesday, December 10, at the Lawrence General Hospital. He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Pasquale and Clementina (Autiello) Caliento.

Mr. Caliento was raised and educated in Lawrence. He worked as a painter for the Charlestown Navy Yard and also the Boston Coast Guard. He was past president of Alhambra and was a member of the Lawrence Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Caliento was a WWII Army Veteran and also served with the Army National Guard.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Luigi Russotto, Ida Caliento and Antonetta Finnocchio.

Mr. Caliento is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Merinda A. (Laorenza) Caliento of North Andover; his daughter, Sandra M. Beland of Haverhill; his brother, Michael Russotto and his wife, Rosanne, of Utah; his grandchildren, Kim Cesati and her husband, Chris, of North Andover and Jason Dzierlatka and his wife, Kristina, of Salem, NH; his great-grandchildren, Zackary, Brendan, Tatum and Jamison and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence.
