North Andover/Andover, MA — Joan M. (Guiney) Hardy, 84, of North Andover, and formerly of Andover, died on Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center. She was born in Newton, Mass., and was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Cain) Guiney.
Joan was a graduate of Framingham State University, and enjoyed summering at Ridgevail Beach in Chatham, Mass. She also loved playing bridge and socializing with her fellow card players. Most of all, Joan cherished the time she spent with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Hardy; and her daughter, Siobhan Swanson. She is survived by her son, Brian P. Hardy and wife, Linda, of Boxford, Mass.; and grandchildren, Alex and Kayla Hardy of Boxford, Peter Roy and wife, Caitlin, of Bradford, Mass., and Michelle Roy of San Francisco; as well as great-grandchildren, Ryan and Evan Roy of Bradford.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. A private burial will be in Bourne National Veteran's Cemetery.
