Methuen, MA — Sr. Mary Ann Lagassie, 84, of Methuen, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Holy Family Hospital.
Born in Caribou, Maine, she was the daughter of Patrick and Jeannette (Gauvin) Lagassie. Sr. Mary Ann entered the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary on July 25, 1947, in Hudson, N.H., and pronounced her vows on February 2, 1950, taking the religious name Sr. Jean-de-Notre Dame.
She served in Maine and Massachusetts as a nursery school throuth 4th grade teacher, and was also a religious education teacher and also Montessori Method for nurseries and kindergarten.
She is survived by her sister, Sr. Lucille Lagassie; and brothers, Donald and John Lagassie.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held on Monday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Saint Claire Residence of the Presentation of Mary, 209 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 2 p.m., in the Presentation of Mary Chapel, with burial in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Methuen.
