Port Charlotte, FL — Carmella S. Mararian, 82, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died on September 15, 2013. She was the widow of Michael Mararian.
Born in Lawrence, Mass., she grew up in Metheun, Mass., and was a graduate of Edward F. Searles High School, Class of 1949. She worked for many years in the family oil business, J.A. Leone and Sons, Inc.
She also enjoyed many happy times with her family at various race tracks watching her father's horses run, especially Rockcastle. Later, many happy summers were spent camping with friends at Ace Acres in Maine.
Egbert, a Red Lord Amazon parrot, was a great love of hers for 25 years. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, her generosity and outstanding cooking will always be remembered fondly by those who have known her.
She leaves a son, Michael Joseph Mararian and his wife, Elizabeth, of New York.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Leone. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph A. Leone of Haverhill, Mass., Thomas A. Leone (Jacqueline) of Lawrence, Gerald Leone of Methuen; and sister, Mary Johns of Newburyport, Mass.; and a niece and several nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at a later date beside her late husband, Michael.
