North Andover, MA and Suwanee, GA — Ernest F. Fionte, a longtime resident of North Andover, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Ernest was born on February 24, 1922, in North Andover to the late Bernardino and Flora (Rotondo) Fionte.
Raised and educated in North Andover, Ernest was graduated from Johnson High School, class of 1939. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a member of the Seabees and was decorated with several honors including the Asiatic-Pacific Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal.
Following WWII, Ernest was employed by the Davis & Furber Machine Company for forty two years until his retirement in 1987.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rose Mary (DeForte) Fionte. In addition, he is survived by a son Glenn Fionte and his wife Kathy of Alpharetta, Ga., a grandson Jason Fionte and his wife Kirsten, and two great-grandsons, Kyle and Ryan Fionte, all of Atlanta, Ga. He is also survived by a granddaughter Jillian Fionte of Smyrna, Ga. Ernest is also survived by two sisters, Anita Fionte and Mildred Schena and her husband Glenn, all of North Andover.

Romm and Velez in Suwanee. And a thank you to the compassionate folks at Belmont Village Senior Living in Suwanee where Ernest and Rose have made their home the past six months.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Monday, September 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 1, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover, followed by burial at St. Mary’s-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
