Andres Antonio Peña


METHUEN — Andres A. Peña, 88, a resident of the town’s Central District, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2013, after a period of declining health.

He was the devoted husband of the late Rosa (Paniagua) De Peña, who passed away in 2006. They shared 60 years of marriage.

He was born on June 19, 1925, in the Dominican Republic, where he was raised and educated. Later, he came to the area to be closer to his children and relatives.

Mr. Peña worked in agriculture early in his career and was later associated with Forgetta Farms of North Andover for several years. Those who knew and loved him will remember his keen interest in playing music of all genres and his charming character.

The Peña Family would like to acknowledge the caring staff at Mary Immaculate Adult Day Health Center for providing an engaging program that he enjoyed attending.

Family members include two sons, Tirson Peña and the late Daniel Peña; five daughters, Nelly Luna, Fior Peña, Nancy Peña, Martha Peña, and Wendy Peña; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Danurvio Peña; two sisters, Estela Peña and Enencia Peña; nieces and nephews; extended relatives; and many loyal friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be from The Diaz-Healy Funeral Home, 107 South Broadway, Opposite St. Patrick Church, South Lawrence.

Calling hours are Monday, September 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral will take place on Tuesday, October 1, with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m., in St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
