Derry, NH — Scott B. Staples,62, of Derry, N.H., formerly of Malden, Mass., died unexpectedly at his home on September 4, 2013.
Born in Winchester, Mass., on January 25,1951, he was the son of the late Stanley and Lois M. (Benson) Staples. He was raised in Malden, and was a graduate of Malden High School. Scott was a retired U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, he was a Master Sergeant, and he served for 24 years. He later worked for 10 years as a Technician for Ecolab, Inc.
Scott had been a resident of Derry, since 1993. He loved cars, telling jokes, music, and being with his family.
Family members include his loving wife of 41 years, Kazue “Mika” (Mineo) Staples; his daughter, Kristina Staples of Manchester, N.H.; his brothers, Albert Staples of Reading, Stanley Staples and his wife, Natividad, of San Antonio, Texas, Douglas Staples and his wife, Mary, of North Reading, Gary Staples and his partner, Gregory Murphy of Dorchester, and Steven Staples of Londonderry, N.H.; sisters, Edith Ann Johnston and her husband, Richard, of Hooksett, N.H., and Susan Wentworth and her husband, David, of Fort Fairfield, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 235 Park Street, North Reading, MA 01864.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Memorial Service will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading, on Monday, October 7, at 10 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
