Haverhill, MA — Margaret E. (Mason) D’Arcangelo, 93, of Haverhill, Mass., died on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Born in Stoneham, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Josephson) Mason. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she worked as a waitress for the Bradford Room, Ronnie D’s and the Village Square Restaurant in Bradford. In her earlier years, Mrs. D’Arcangelo worked in the local shoe industry.
A member of All Saints Parish, Haverhill and the former St. Rita’s Parish, she was an artist who enjoyed oil painting, sewing, and cooking for her family, friends, and neighbors.
The widow of Joseph S. “Sparky” D’Arcangelo, she is survived by four daughters and son-in-law, Sandra D’Arcangelo of Cambridge, Sylvia D’Arcangelo of Haverhill, Margie and Wayne Gove of Hampstead, N.H., and Susan D’Arcangelo of San Francisco, Calif.; a son, Damon D’Arcangelo of Haverhill; two sisters, Delores Blanchard of Auburn, Maine, and Margie Ashjian of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren, Daniel Antonelli, Dina Shea, and Jeremy Gove; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John Mason, and her dog, Sparky.
ARRANGEMENTS: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian of Burial will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill.
