Edna C. Homa, 89


Andover — Edna Carolyn (Koza) Homa, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Mass., surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lawrence Mass., she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Mary (Korc) Koza. She grew up in Andover on the family farm and was a graduate of Punchard High School. She worked at the Andover National Bank until her family moved back to Lawrence in 1950. She was the widow of John M. Homa who predeceased her in 1997.

She worked as a clerk for the local Registry of Motor Vehicles until her retirement. She enjoying sewing, knitting, baking and traveling with her husband. She loved visiting Las Vegas and Foxwoods. She was a 4H member as a young girl and when her grandchildren joined 4H, she became a 4H club leader and volunteer for the Topsfield Fair until her death. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award this summer from the Topsfield Fair. She will always be remembered as Baci to her grandchildren who she loved to spend time with.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane J Krafton and her husband, Richard, of Andover, Marlene F. Hawkins and her husband, Charles, of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Laurie J. Proulx and her husband, Stephen, of Derry, N.H.; along with grandchildren, Lee Ann Sanchez and her husband, Frank, of Londonderry, N.H., Dicky Krafton Jr. and his wife, Becky, of Dracut, Mass., Greg S. Proulx and his wife, Rachel, of Manchester, N.H., Jon, Dan, and Samantha Proulx of Derry, N.H.; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Nick, Chris and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Koza of Colorado, and was predeceased by her sister, Helen Miskinis. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours are Monday, October 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover. A memorial service will be offered on Tuesday, October 22, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
