Haverhill — David J. Samoisette, 83, of Haverhill, passed away Tuesday, August 27, at the Maplewood Center in Amesbury after a brief illness. He was born in Haverhill, July 24, 1930, son of the late J. Leo and C. Frances (Durnin) Samoisette. David was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Western Electric after 36 years of service as a supervisor. David was a family man and his favorite pastimes were painting, gardening and animals.
His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty (Martoni) Samoisette of Haverhill; children, Mark A. Samoisette and his wife, Lyn, of Plaistow, N.H., Lynne M. Graziosi and Jeannine Constantino and her husband, Bruce, all of Haverhill; grandchildren, Stefanie and her husband, Isaiah Lewis, Erica and her husband, Neil Kelleher, Brandy Samoisette, Leah Samoisette; great-grandchildren, Holden, twin girls, Alexandra and Ariana, and Luke; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Donald F. and Edward L. “Sam” Samoisette.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to all the nurses and the staff of Maplewood Sub One Unit, Amesbury, Mass., for their extraordinary care and compassion they gave in this time of need.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of the family, Funeral Services and interment in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill will be private. Arrangements are by the H.L.
