Mary H. Paolino, 64

Andover — Mary Helen Paolino, 64, of Andover, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 1, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born and raised in Lawrence, where she lived for many years. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Attilia Paolino.

Mary graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Lowell State Teacher’s College, and later earned her master’s from the University of Lowell. She taught at the Bruce School in Lawrence for 30 years, where she touched the lives of all of her students. It was not unusual for former students to seek her out to tell her how she had changed their lives.

Mary was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, where she served in several ministries, including teaching RCIA and bringing the Eucharist to the homebound. She was a member and past president of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, as well as an active member of the St. Rita Sodality. Mary was also an involved member of the St. Basil community. For 16 years, she served as the president of the Lawrence Ladies Lodge #2026, Order Sons of Italy in America. She was also a board member of Creative Living of Andover.

Mary was a devoted daughter, niece, sister, aunt, and friend. Her smile, energy, and generosity inspired everyone she knew. Spreading her faith and serving others filled her with happiness. She will truly be missed and will always be in our hearts as she undertakes her new life in heaven.

Mary is survived by her twin sister, Josephine A. Paolino of Andover; her brother, David R. Paolino and his wife, Corliss, of North Andover; six beloved nieces and nephews, Jason Paolino and his wife, Nicole, of Rindge, N.H., Jonathan Paolino and his wife, Kimberly, of West Boylston, Mass., Juliana MacLeod and her husband, Jason, of Candia, N.H., Jessica Shattuck and her husband, Jonathan, of Brighton, Mass., Jeana Paolino of North Andover, and Joana LaBranche and her husband, Douglas, of North Andover; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Kyle, Makayla, Madelyn, Jacob, Seraphina, and Benjamin Paolino, Errol, Grace MacLeod, and William LaBranche.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Friday September 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, September 7, at Corpus Christi Parish in Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Lawrence.
