Salem, NH — John W. McCarthy, 83, of Salem, N.H., died on Saturday at the Nevins Nursing Home, Methuen, Mass. He was born in Lawrence, Mass., where he grew up and attended schools. He was a resident of Salem for the past 50 years. Mr. McCarthy was a baker for Mivilles Bakery in Lawrence, Mass., and also worked at Shaws in Salem. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. (Cote) McCarthy of Salem; daughters, Carol and her husband, Brian Greenfield, Joann and her husband, Alan Proulx, Susan and her husband, Frank Lowe, and Phyllis McCarthy, all of Salem; son, John and his wife, Cheryl McCarthy of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m., at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, N.H.
