Andover — Evelyn R. Benson, age 91, of Andover, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 6, 2012 at the Wingate in Andover.
Evelyn was born in Lawrence, on September 24th, 1921. She was the youngest child of nine children born to Flavius and Celina Bouchard and she attended local schools in Lawrence.
She was employed for many years and retired from Stride Rite Shoe Company.
Evelyn was the widow of Charles J. Benson. She is survived by her four children, Elaine Baker and husband David of Florida, Nancy Scalese and husband Nick of Andover, Jim Benson of Boston, and Diane Benson and husband Al Sapienza of Newburyport and Charlottesville, Va.
She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Cynthia Bouchard and husband Chris of Florida, Alan Baker of Ohio, and David Sapienza of Seattle, Wash.; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Bouchard of Florida. Evelyn is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life and especially in her later years, Evelyn enjoyed and appreciated being with her family.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1 p.m. in St. Augustine Church in Andover. Burial services are private.
