Haverhill — Roger L. Lagasse, 73, of Haverhill passed away Wednesday, October 24, at Mass General Hospital, with his loving wife of 20 years, his children, and other family members by his side.
Roger was born in Fall River, January 23, 1939 son of the late Leo and Imelda (Lord) Lagasse.
During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was an avid lumberman working for over 50 years for many local and national lumber companies. Mr. Lagasse enjoyed and owned vintage cars and street rods and also enjoyed boating and snowmobiling. He loved spending time in New Hampshire, where he owned property for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife Doris (Gendreau) Lagasse, mother of his children, and a brother, Richard A. Lagasse. His survivors include his wife, Mary E. (Ferris) Lagasse of Haverhill; children, Dennis and wife Susan Lagasse of Roswell, Ga., Joanne Gleichauf and her husband Robert of Clinton, Wis., Dianne Berard and husband Richard, Donald and wife Dianne Lagasse all of Swansea. His grandchildren include, Dr. Geoffrey Berard, Amanda Berard, Brielle and her husband Joe Reineck, Michael, Kristen, Jenna, Daniel and Rebecca Lagasse, and a great-granddaughter, Eva Maye Reineck. Mr. Lagasse also leaves his step-children, James Gilmartin and fiancé Elizabeth Barry, Kathryn Gilmartin and fiancé Richard Dunn all of Bradford, step-grandchildren, Emily and Joseph Gilmartin and Maeve Dunn.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Monday morning, November 12, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church, So. Main St., Bradford.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by family remembrances at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
