Haverhill — – William L. Cook, 89, of Lyman, Maine, formerly of Haverhill, died Thursday, November 22, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late, Albert H. and Alice A. (Abbott) Cook. He attended Haverhill Public Schools and Haverhill High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was honorably discharged.
Mr. Cook was employed as a Machinist at the former Western Electric in North Andover, retiring in 1982. Moving to Lyman, Maine in 1982, he and his wife Pauline enjoyed the serenity of their surroundings and rural countryside. In his younger years, he was a certified rifle instructor for the National Rifle Association.
The widower of Pauline A. (Marquis) who died in 2011, he leaves a son William J. Cook and his wife, Sherrie, of Haverhill; two daughters, Elzina L. Morse and her husband, Richard, of Lyman, ME; Suzanne Beier and her husband David, of North Port, FL; eight grandchildren; Christina Lynch, Michelle Morse, Scott Morse, Eric Beier, William Beier, Tracy Cook, Melissa Martin, Amy Cook, and Richard Scott Morse , two great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday at 4:00 PM in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte.125) Haverhill. A period of visitation will precede the service from 2 until 4:00 PM. Burial is private. www.comeaufuneral.com
