Theresa A. Rickley, 79

Methuen — Theresa A. (Boyle) Rickley 79 of Methuen passed away Wednesday November 28, 2012 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Posluszny) Boyle.

Theresa came to Methuen 56 years ago when she fell in love and married Edward Rickley. In the earlier years of their life together, she was employed as a secretary for Western Electric, then as a reporter for the former Methuen News in the 1980s. She was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Parish, a member of St. Lucy’s Sodality, and a past secretary of the Methuen Scholarship Foundation.

Theresa loved her husband, her family and her faith. She always welcomed the Holidays; hosting the annual family Christmas party - where all were greeted with hugs and kisses, and left with a full stomach and a happy heart. She lived for her grandchildren’s school and sporting events; from band performances and dance recitals to all those football and soccer games. She beamed with joy whenever she thought or talked about her family, always telling them how proud she was of every accomplishment. An avid and devoted reader, she would read multiple novels a week, visiting the library and sharing her “review” with family and friends.

Theresa is survived by her beloved husband Edward; her children and their spouses Michael Rickley and his wife Daria Niewenhous of Reading, and Carol Wojtowicz and her husband John of Methuen; and her sister Claire Owens of Levittown, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren (Lauren, Stephen, Scott, Elizabeth, and Katelyn) and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Eileen Deppert.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday December 2, 2012 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen.
