HAMPSTEAD, N.H. — Richard P. Dufresne, 65, of Hampstead, N.H., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill.
Richard was born in Lawrence to the late Arthur J., Sr. and Edith M. (O'Keefe) Dufresne. Before his retirement, Rick worked for many years at the F.& F. Printing Ink Company as a color matcher. He was a former member of the Haverhill Country Club, played softball for Chris' Ace of Clubs and Nasar Ford in the Lawrence Social Soft Ball League, coached and was and Umpire and Chief for the South Lawrence West Little League and head coach of the Lawrence Legion baseball team. Richard served his country with the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Donohue) Dufresne of Hampstead, N.H.; and his loving children, Jason T. Dufresne and his wife Tina of Plaistow, N.H., and Leslie Dufresne of Manchester, N.H.; his brothers, Arthur J., Jr. and his wife Donna of North Andover, Thomas M. and his wife Ann of Haverhill, Robert H. and his wife Jean of Brooksville, Fla., Donald J. of North Andover, Dennis E. and his wife Ann of North Andover, James T. and his wife Mary of Harrington, Del.; and his sister, Linda Dufresne of Texas. Rick was the brother-in-law of Mary Ellen Dufresne of Atkinson, N.H., and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rick was predeceased by his brother, Michael F. Dufresne. Rick will also be missed by his little buddies, Lizzie and Bonhomme.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral Mass on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, North Andover. Interment will be held at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 in the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover.
