Charleston, S.C. — M.Beatrice Lewis (Bea), 89, former Massachusetts resident, died on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home in Charleston S.C. surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Kenneth A. Lewis who died on January 28, 2003.
Mrs. Beatrice Lewis was born in Danvers on September 3, 1923, to Henry J and Rose Reinhold. She received her education in Lawrence schools and was a graduate of LHS, she attended Lawrence General Hospital School of nursing and numerous courses offered during her tenure with the Internal Revenue Service.
Mom devoted her life to lovingly taking care of her home and family, she was the best cook ever and my brothers and I will be forever grateful for all those holiday meals we shared in the family home.
After raising her family Bea returned to the work force at the Internal Revenue Service, where her math skills took her to new heights, she retired from the IRS in 1985. At that time she began a part time career with the YMCA in Andover for several years.
She moved to the Washington D.C. area in May of 2003 to live with her Daughter until 2009 when her daughter retired and they moved to Charleston, S.C.
Beatrice is survived by her three sons, Kenneth A Lewis and his wife, Terri, of Dothan, Ala., Robert H.Lewis and his wife, Kathy of Epping, N.H., and Michael D. Lewis and his wife Eileen, of Londonderry, N.H.; her daughter, Patricia A. Lewis (Dunn) of Charleston, S.C.; her nine grandchildren, David Lewis of Stuttgart, Germany, Linda Heck and her husband, Michael of Stuttgart,Germany, Melissa Lewis of Ann Arbor, Mich., Courtney Battaglia and her husband, Todd of TelAviv, Israel, Whitney Dunn of Charleston, S.C., Jessica Lewis of Epping, N.H., Jenna Burke and her husband. John of Raymond,N.H. Catherine Lewis of Londonderry N.H., Colleen Lewis of Londonderry N.H.; and her nine great-grandchildren.
