Andover — Charles S. Waldie, 84, of Andover, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover.
Charles was born, raised and educated in Andover. He served with the U.S. Army. He worked for over 20 years at Lawrence General Hospital as a cook prior to his retirement. He was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. His greatest love in life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he will be dearly missed.
Charles leaves his loving wife of almost 40 years, Mildred C. (Reed) Waldie of Andover; his two sons, Kevin Waldie and Wayne Waldie of Vt.; sisters, Georgina Sanborn, Elizabeth Madison and Barbara Ross, all of Andover, and Isabel Bolduc of Rumford, R.I.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-children. Charles is predeceased by sisters, Margaret Cairnie and Anges Ratcliffe and brothers, John Waldie, James Waldie Jr, Alexander Waldie, Harold Waldie, Archie Waldie, William Waldie, and David Waldie.
