Raffaela Guay, 92


Lawrence — Raffaela (Evangelista). Guay 92, died January 23, 2013 at the Methuen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen.

Mrs. Guay was born in Italy, May 7, 1920, the daughter of Amasio and Maria (Cardillo) Evengelista.

Mrs. Guay received her education in Italy. For many years Raffaela worked in housekeeping at both Holy Family Hospital for 15 years and the Burke Hospital before retiring. Raffaela was a Communicant of Saint Monica’s Church and loved to go to lunch with her friends from Saint Monica’s.

The widow of Lawrence Guay, Raffaela is survived by her son, Anthony L. Guay in Methuen; one grandson, Christopher Guay of Tampa, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arcangelo of Montreal, Canada and Silvano also of Santiago, Chile, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs Guay was predeceased by her son, Frank L Guay.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 9 a.m. in Saint Monica Church with entombment to follow in Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Mausoleum.

Friends will be warmly received on Sunday, January 28, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. 01844 or to Holy Family Hospital, 70 East Street, Methuen.
