Methuen — Louis Richard Laorenza, 59, of Methuen passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 28, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Ralph and Emily (Roberto) Laorenza.
Louis was raised and educated in Methuen and Lawrence and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was employed by the Lawrence Post Office for more than 25 years and served as a NALC union trustee.
Louis was a coach for the Methuen Girls Softball for many years. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his wife and family, going to the beach and his monthly poker games.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; Cynthia J. (Schubert) Laorenza; his daughters, Cristina Sakowich and her husband David of Deerfield, NH, Alyssa Mannina and her husband Chance of Salem, NH and Kimberly Calouro and her husband Luis, Jr. of Methuen; his brother, Ralph Laorenza of Tampa, FL; his sister, JoAnn Testa and her husband Donald of Leominster and his grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, Callum and Leila. Louis is also survived by his mother-in-law Eleanor Schubert, several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews and was predeceased by his son, Brian L. Laorenza.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St. Methuen.
