Andover, MA — Carol Ann (DelliColli) Nardone, 77, of Andover, passed away, January 24, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late, Anthony and Mary A. (LaChardi) DelliColli. Raised and educated in Lawrence, she was a proud honor student and graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1953.
Always welcoming, warm and filled with happiness, Carol’s proudest moments were being surrounded by her family and friends. She loved hosting traditional Sunday meals: her kitchen filled with Italian cooking and dynamic conversation. At her beach house, the place she loved more than any other in the world, she would line-up beach-chairs along the shore to begin a day of relaxation with her family of seven. On Christmas Eve, she would prepare the Feast of the Seven Fishes, Christmas being her absolute favorite time of the year. Carol made her homes a place where everyone found love, laughter, and unmistakably delicious food.
Carol was a member of the Andover Historical Society, Andover Garden Club and St. Augustine’s Church; and a volunteer for many years at Memorial Hall Library. She was an avid tennis player, "weekend warrior" skier, passionate gardener with her husband, world-class scrabble player, voracious reader, and card player with her beloved grandchildren. Simply said, she was a magnificent wife, an unbelievable mother, the best "Grams" to her grandchildren, and an absolutely remarkable friend. Her smile was bright and her heart always filled with joy. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Philip A. Nardone Sr., of Andover, sons; Philip A. Nardone Jr, and his partner Scott Peltier, of Boston, MA and Nantucket, MA, David M. Nardone and his wife, Terra, of Windham, NH, and Mark C. Nardone and his wife, Erin, of Andover, MA, two daughters; Doreen M. Powell, and her husband, Nelson, of Tampa, FL, and Gayle M. Nardone-Faro and her fiancé, Denis A. Comeau, of Wakefield, MA, seven cherished grandchildren; Lindsay Faro, Tre Nardone, Christopher Nardone, Mark Nardone, Rachel Nardone, Nico Nardone, and Sofia Nardone, a brother; Ronald E. DelliColli and his wife, Karen, of Methuen, MA, sister in law; Geraldine Fusco and her husband, Jack, of Methuen, MA,; and brother-in-law; Michael Nardone of Ridgefield, CT.; and several nieces and nephews.
