North Andover — Priscilla Peabody Watson, age 95, a resident of Edgewood in North Andover, died February 5, 2013. Priscilla was born in Dracut, in 1918 to the late, Henry N. Peabody and Ethel Wilson Peabody. Priscilla grew up in Methuen and graduated from Searle’s High School. She was predeceased by her brother, Henry Peabody and sisters, Doris Peabody and Elizabeth Markunas.
Priscilla owned the Peabody Book Store in Andover where she met her beloved late husband, William A. Watson. They married in 1939 and enjoyed 48 years together in Andover. Priscilla was a member of the South Congregational Church of Andover where she was a soloist for many years, as well as a soloist in the Andover Male Choir. She retired from the Andover Police Department after 25 years of service, a job she truly enjoyed.
Priscilla loved to travel, taking many trips to Europe, the United Kingdom, and around the United States as well as several cruises. She spent many happy hours with friends on her yearly vacations to Boothbay Harbor, Maine where she also met many new friends.
Priscilla leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Jennifer of Raymond, N.H., as well as, sons, Jeffrey of Derry, N.H. and William, Jr., (Beverly) of Cape Coral, Fla.; granddaughters, Lynn (Tim) White of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Becky (Joe) Mokos of Roslindale, and Kaitlin of Exeter, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Duncan and Aidan White of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Sam and Liliana Mokos of Roslindale.
Priscilla will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She requested that there will be no formal services. Her ashes will be spread at Boothbay Harbor, Maine at a later date.
