Dr. Leanne K. Donovan, 48

Stratham — Leanne K. Donovan, 48, of Stratham, New Hampshire, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Leanne waged a courageous 4 year battle with Breast Cancer, a battle waged with extreme strength and dignity.

She was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on March 28, 1965, and was the daughter of Donald Donovan and Toni (Sarbanis) Donovan of Atkinson, New Hampshire.

Leanne is also survived by her two adored brothers, Shawn C. Donovan and his wife, Karen, Nottingham, New Hampshire and Scott C. Donovan and his wife, Amy, Dover, New Hampshire. She also leaves her cherished niece and nephews, Maggie Donovan, Noah Donovan and Aidan Donovan; also, her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Sarbanis, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Leanne was a 1983 graduate of Timberlane Regional High School, earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and her Doctorate from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She was a talented and compassionate Veterinarian who loved caring for animals from childhood. She most recently worked at Dover Veterinary Hospital, Dover, New Hampshire, Stratham–Newfields Animal Hospital, Newfields, New Hampshire and Gray-New Gloucester Animal Hospital, Gray, Maine.

Leanne loved reading, gardening and needlepoint, and was an accomplished cook. She also loved traveling and had traveled to most states in the United States. She was an avid Red Sox fan, loved hiking and most of all, spending vacations with her family in Acadia National Park. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff members at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Rockingham VNA and Merrimack Valley Hospice House for all their care and concern.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, November 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, New Hampshire. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 24, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer Street, Haverhill, Massachusetts. She was raised and educated in Lawrence graduating from Lawrence High School class of 1982 where she excelled in sports especially softball and was a trombonist in the high school band. Following high school she graduated from Northern Essex Community College with high honors receiving her Associate degree.

    Methuen, MA — James H. Henderson passed away on July 10, 2014 surrounded by his family. James was born April 6, 1922 in London, England. He grew up near Broadstairs in Kent and enlisted in the Royal Marines at the start of World War II. He met his beloved first wife, the late Martha E. (Garlick) Henderson of Methuen, in 1941 while on leave in the Boston area. During the war James fought on land and sea across five continents.

(Stickel) Kramer and the late Donald J. Kramer. Ann Marie graduated from Andover High School and followed in the footsteps of her proud father, Donald J. Kramer, attending Northeastern University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in 1984. While her later years were primarily a homemaker, Ann Marie’s early career was as an accountant.

    Andover — Eileen (Bibeau) Marget passed away peacefully at Wingate Nursing Home on Monday morning, July 7. She had been afflicted with Alzheimer's disease for the past several years. Born on March 20, 1926, she grew up in South Lawrence, attending St. Patrick's High School, where she was valedictorian of her senior class. She briefly attended college before returning home to help provide for her family during WWII. She went back to school later in life to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, and ended her employment working for Hewlet-Packard.

    Salisbury, MA. — John A. D’Amore, 77, of Salisbury, passed on June 15, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer. John was born in Medford on Feb. 19, 1937 to the late Anthony and Angelina (Christoforo) D’Amore. He graduated from Medford High School in 1955 where he played football and hockey. John spent most of his life working in the construction industry as a project estimator/manager. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching sports especially football and hockey. John was also a longtime youth hockey coach.

He was the husband of the late Carmella (Morelli) Pasquale of Portland, Maine, who died in 1949, and Carrie (Francescone) Pasquale, who died in 1994.

    Lawrence, MA — Arthur O. Desjardins Jr., 90, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 4, 2014. Arthur was the son of Alma (Lavallee) and Arthur Desjardins, Sr., and was born on April 9, 1924. Arthur was a World War II veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Army, 344 Combat Engineers. He was the foreman of the sanitation department for the City of Lawrence for many years, before retiring in 1979.

    Windham, NH — Arthur LaChance, 93, of Windham, N.H., passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2014. Arthur was born on May 31, 1921, in Manchester, N.H., to the late Orville and Henedine LaChance. He enjoyed skiing in the mountains until he reached his 80s, playing 45s, boating, square dancing, and activities with his family. Arthur especially found joy spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1939, Arthur attended Lowell Tech. He was a member of Council #4027 Knights of Columbus, a member of the Salem New Hampshire and Methuen Chamber of Columbus, a member of the Methuen Board of Trade and Holy Family Hospital, Men’s Guild. Arthur was a communicant and a very active parishioner at St. Theresa’s Church of Methuen, as well as St. Matthew’s Church in Windham. He successfully founded, owned and operated A&R Construction Co. of Methuen and RAJ Realty of Salem. The two business eventually combined into LaChance Associates, which operates today out of Salem. Arthur was an extremely proud WWII United States Navy veteran. He volunteered his services to his country and was a member of the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Normandy Invasion.

    Lawrence, MA — Martine Michaud, 86, passed away July 6 at Blair House in Tewksbury. Mrs. Michaud was born and educated in Ville St. Degelis P.Q. Québec, and was the daughter of the late Alfred Soucy and his wife Alvine St. Pierre. She moved to Lawrence in 1971, and attended the former St. Anne's Church and was a member of La Raconte. Mrs. Michaud had worked as shoe assembler at Lawrence Maid Shoe. The widow of Clovis Michaud, she is survived by her sons, Jean Louis Michaud and his wife, Lisa, and their son, Adam, of Lawrence, Ivan Michaud and his son, Jesse, of Raymond, N.H.; daughters, Jocelyn Thatch and her children, Jimmy and Michelle of Methuen, France Michaud of Methuen, and Linda Michaud of Andover. She is also survived by another granddaughter, Chantal Michaud of Lawrence. Mrs. Michaud was predeceased by her sons, Maurice Michaud and Regenald Michaud and his wife, Pat, and daughter, Nicole.
