Lawrence, MA — Placido "Pat" Fiorino, 89, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House.
Born and raised in Lawrence, Pat was the son of Antonio and Maria Maddalena (Garfi) Fiorino, both born in Sicily. Pat attended Holy Rosary Elementary School in Lawrence, and graduated from Lawrence High School. Pat went on to work in the clothing and apparel industry at a young age, making suits for Bronzetti’s in Lawrence. Pat then worked at the historic Everett Mills, where he continued his trade making fine suits for Polo until he retired.
Pat Fiorino was a member of the Italian American Civic Association in Lawrence. Pat could be found here quite a bit, where he enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and watching sporting events with his brothers, Jackie and Charlie, as well as his many friends. Pat was also an avid golfer and was a member at the Merrimack Valley Country Club.
Pat's true passion was his family. A dedicated family man with an enormous heart, he loved nothing more than having his kids, grandkids, and his great-grandkids around him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marianthy (Pappalangus) Fiorino; his son, Anthony and Brenda Fiorino; daughters, Aspasia Fiorino and Maria (Fiorino) Kurkjian; sister, Millie (Fiorino) Barbagallo; brother, Orazio “Jackie" Fiorino; grandchildren, Anthony Fiorino, Jared Fiorino, Amanda Fiorino, Courtney and Shawn Ivanovitch, Chelsea Fiorino, Kayla Kurkjian, and Alex Fiorino; and great-grandchildren, Kaydance and Johnathon Ivanovitch, Amaiyah Rios, and Merrick Makai Fiorino; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Carmelo “Charlie” Fiorino; and his sister, Nellie (Fiorino) Lorenzo.
