Peabody — Thomas J Page Jr. of Peabody, MA, passed away on November 17th, 2012, peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Tom was born on January 26th, 1924, in Lawrence, MA. After graduating Lawrence High School, he volunteered at the age of 17 for the Navy and served as a radio operator aboard the U.S.S. Greene during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was awarded several medals for his service in both the Atlantic and Pacific theatres.

Before going to work for General Foods Corporation after the war, he attended Merrimack College and Boston University. He retired in 1986 from General Foods, where he served as district manager.

A lifelong trombone player, Tom played in countless Dixieland and Big Band Jazz groups on weekends. A proud veteran of the Navy, Tom attended many reunions of his shipmates in various US cities with his family.

He is survived by Lillian, his loving wife of 68 years; his daughter Linda, wife of Kenneth Leahy of Windham, NH, his son Tom and his wife Renee of North Andover, MA, son John and his wife Ann of Dania, Florida, his 5 grandchildren Lauren & Scott Leahy, Kellan, Harrison and Danielle Page, and one great-grandchild, Lauren J. Reitler.

Thomas will be remembered of many wonderful traits, including his great love of family, his humor, his humility, his trombone, and if his ball ended up in the woods, his choice words on the golf course.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
