Salem, N.H. — Helen E. (Rheaume) Catineau, age 88, of Salem, N.H., died Monday at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen. She was born in Haverhill, where she grew up and was educated.
She was a resident of Salem for the past nine years, formerly of Lawrence. Helen was a homemaker. She had previously worked for Western Electric. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish St. Theresa’s Church, Methuen. She was very devoted to the Blessed Mother and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene “Leo” Catineau of Salem, N.H.; daughters, Marie and Michael Guay of Fremont, N.H., Laura and Mark Price of Salem, N.H.; sons, Mark and Maria Catineau of Florida, Paul Catineau of Florida; brother, Joseph Rheaume of Haverhill; sister, Rose Evans of California; grandchildren, Sarah, Aimee, Trista, Paul-Michael, Kyra, Anthony, Michael, Christine, Steven, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Hailey, & Rebecca; several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, November 30 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Council Parish St. Theresa’s Church, Methuen. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Mausoleum, Lawrence. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, N.H. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Good Council Parish St. Theresa’s Church, 22 Plymouth St, Methuen, MA. 01844.
