Milton Mills, N.H. — John Jay Williams, 57, of Milton Mills, N.H., formerly of Salem, N.H., died on Saturday, November 24 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, after a short illness.
Jay grew up in Salem N.H. and attended Salem High School where he was active in sports, participated in the band, and excelled in his studies. Jay was the top male graduate in his class. Jay also received the Eagle Scout award. Although he received his degree at the University of New Hampshire in Botany, he worked for the Portsmouth Naval Yard monitoring the nuclear facilities on the submarines for thirty years.
Jay was interested in politics, loved nature, mountain climbing and was in the process of renovating the family's 1776 farmhouse. He attended St. Anthony's church in Sanbornville, N.H.
He leaves his wife, Mariecris; sons, Thomas, John, James, and Clement;, brothers, Brian and wife, Barbara, Steven and wife, Lucia, Robert and wife, Donna, Gary and wife, Wendy; and sister, Andrea and husband, Joseph Anderson. He also leaves his parents John and Nancy Williams of Salem, N.H.
ARRANGEMENTS: The calling hour will be on Monday, December 3 followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph's Church at 33 Main St. in Salem NH at 11 a.m.
