Brentwood, N.H. — Mary G. Stevens passed away on December 7, 2012 at the age of 85 at Rockingham Nursing Home, Brentwood, N.H. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mary was born in Boston, grew up in Malden and graduated from Cheverus High School. She earned a B.A. from Mt. St. Mary’s College and a M.A. from the University of New Hampshire.
For over twenty years, Mary was a Sister of Mercy. She also had a career as a teacher at various schools and in college recruitment at Sanders in Nashua, before retiring to Myrtle Beach, S.C. She spent many happy years traveling, playing golf, spending time with family and she was an avid Red Sox fan.
Family members include Mary’s sister, Marjorie Knowles and brother-in-law, William Knowles of Plaistow; sisters, Constance Scibinico of Woburn and Jean Ekstrom of Boca Raton, Fla. She is predeceased by sister, Vera Steward of Concord, Mass. Her niece and nephews include MaryBeth Knowles of San Diego, Mark Knowles of Atkinson and Paul Knowles of Haverhill.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, December 11, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow Village, Plaistow. Her funeral mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Plaistow. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow.
