To the editor:
Before leaving my home in Israel for a two-week visit to my parents’ house in Andover, I wondered if Americans’ perceptions of Israel have been swayed by U.S. media coverage of the recent conflict.
My family and I have been forced to run to a bomb shelter numerous times due to Palestinian missile barrages over our city, but the media sometimes seems narrowly focused on Palestinian suffering.
Kudos to Taylor Armerding (”Debate filled with ‘hate’ gives Hamas a pass,” Aug. 17) for correctly pointing out that Hamas fuels this conflict. Their extremist version of Islam calls for the death of Jews in the region and doesn’t allow for any compromise.
