I’m upset about the Legislature’s tax hikes, but I’m more upset about the lame excuses that Rep. Diana DiZoglio and Sen. Kathleen O’Connor Ives give for why they flip-flopped. Do they think voters are dumb? At least all the other local legislators have been up-front.
Regarding the story about the kids selling lemonade to help their cousin who had a heart transplant: I was just thinking that if Kaden and Makayla, God bless them, had their lemonade stand in Massachusetts, the first thing they would need is a variance from the local zoning board, then a permit from the health department. Of course at the end of the day, Deval Patrick would show up as the representative of the Eternal Revenue Service to extract the appropriate fees and taxes.
After Vladimir Putin gave Edward Snowden asylum, President Obama reacted with a temper tantrum. He then said about Putin that he’s got that kind of slouch, looking like the bored kid in the back of the classroom. Seriously? Is this president of the United States, or the fifth-grade class president?
On Saturday, Obama flew on Air Force One, which costs $180,000 per hour, to Orlando to give one of his repetitive speeches, then flew to Buzzard’s Bay on Cape Cod, and then took the presidential helicopter, which had to be flown in from Washington, to Martha’s Vineyard for his vacation. Multiply this twice because his daughters are flying down at a different time, and then add their return flight to Washington, plus Secret Service costs, and it will be a multi-million dollar bill for the taxpayers. Remember his recent lavish vacations in Hawaii and Africa? Where is the outrage? By comparison, George W. Bush vacationed at Camp David and at his ranch in Texas. One would say that Obama is an elitist and Bush is a loyalist.
