To the editor:
My name is Everett J. Smith. I am 87 years old.
I am writing in the hope that the voters of Atkinson will support Phil Consentino for selectman at the upcoming election of town officials.
Phil has served our town for many years as chief of police and is now the director of senior services here in town. He has been a faithful employee of our town and has served the town very well. Phil gives our seniors a very real sense of security.
A few years ago, my wife was very ill. She was 84 years old and I had an important meeting for my wife with her doctor at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. It was January and the snow was very deep. My car was buried and I couldn’t get anyone to dig it out. I can’t shovel anymore since I had my triple bypass operation and my doctor said I can’t shovel. I called Phil and within an hour he had sent two men over. They shoveled out my car and I was able to get my wife to see her doctor.
Phil has a lot of compassion for the seniors in town. Phil is a person who is not living for himself but is living for others.
Phil will make a wonderful selectman. It is my prayer that the voters in Atkinson will support Phil in the upcoming election.
