To the editor:
At a time when many people are concerned primarily with meeting their family’s needs, I find it really uplifting that many businesses and other organizations encourage their staff and students to dig deep to help meet the needs of those who have been struggling in our sluggish economy. Recently in Salem, when the need seemed the greatest, the Red Roof Inn, the Service Credit Union and the Barron staff and student body all provided our pantry with significant food donations. The timing was so right that it had to be God’s Spirit moving the leaders of these organizations even weeks ago when they were planning their Christmas events.
Once again, we’d like to thank these and others who have given anonymously for their generosity and for making it possible to believe in the compassionate and caring nature of humankind in this special season of Christmas. May you all have a peace-filled and blessed Christmas!
