To the editor:
Right now, Congress is debating a farm bill. It will direct agriculture and nutrition for several years. Not surprising the House and Senate again have passed two very different bills. Again they have to negotiate and pass one bill! To put it simply, the differences are about the amount cut from the food stamp program called SNAP.
Already all food stamp recipients got their benefits cut. Now they want to double down on low income, elderly and disabled Americans.
Rather than always hitting the people who are in real need can’t they find a way to take care of people who need it and still put our fiscal house in order? How about taking care of our own than giving it to every other country?
