Letter: Sullivan's experience can help Haverhill students

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — To the editor:

Gail Sullivan will be getting my vote for Haverhill School Committee on Nov. 5. She is a third-generation educator. Her husband, Joe LeBlanc, is a Haverhill native and a member of the faculty at Northern Essex Community College. Their son teaches at Whittier Tech.

Gail has a first-rate education and experience. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and earned graduate degrees from Fitchburg State University and Suffolk University. She taught for 14 years at Whittier Tech and was a high school principal and curriculum director in New Hampshire's Lakes Region. More recently, she worked as assistant superintendent and interim superintendent of schools for the highly regarded Marshwood District in southern Maine.

Gail would be a wonderful addition the the Haverhill School Committee. She knows curriculum, special education and budget issues inside and out. She is smart. She works well with others. She is thoughtful. She has a positive attitude. She is a good listener. She will consistently advocate for our children.

Gail believes in the transformative power of education and is willing to serve to help make a difference in the lives of all of Haverhill's children. I hope you will join me in voting for this exceptional candidate.
