---- — To the editor:
Those who frequent gambling establishments are mostly marginalized, indigent persons living at the poverty level. Why should we encourage them into further debt, drugs, alcohol or crime?
I, personally, have experienced this style of living with a close family member. His thinking was that money would solve everything. He found out the hard way that the loss of money will destroy everything — the loss of integrity, family, faith.
More money will be coming to New Hampshire? To pay for what? More crime, domestic violence, welfare recipients? We all know that gambling what one does not have does not give us freedom.
Our beautiful state of New Hampshire will be looked upon in disfavor by many. Is that what most of us stand for? “Live free or die” — that is our state motto.
