---- — Likes Obama care
I have been happy with Obamacare. For the past two years, my two recent college grads have been on my insurance. We have saved over $4,000. Originally, one was kicked off our plan at age 22. It cost over $2,000 a year to insure him. Republicans say “young and healthy” kids do not need insurance. They are wrong. One of our children was hit by a car walking, and the other had gall bladder surgery. The hospital bills were over $50,000. They had Obamacare insurance.
Fools on the Hill
Let’s all thank Obama and the other children in Congress. Because of their childish bickering, America is once again the laughingstock of the world.
I have a problem with Haverhill’s idea of sending children ages 5, 6 and 7 years old into a school of more then 1,000 students, including 13-year-old and older middle schoolers. Has anyone been inside a middle school lately? The intimidation factor alone should give the parents cause for concern, not to mention the language and habits your little ones will have to cope with. Will there be two gyms, and will the first-graders eat lunch with the eighth-graders, or did the school design include two of everything? It sounds the mayor has convinced everyone that his one size-fits-all idea is the only way to go because it solves his immediate problem with a number of schools.
Religion of peace?
The Muslim religion is always insisting their religion is a religion of peace. So help me understand something. All these atrocities committed by radical Muslims throughout the world, the decapitations, the burning of faces to prevent authorities from identifying the victims, the brutal and disgusting killing of children, the rape of both women and men, the use of chemical weapons and the severing of hands and other parts of the human body are their way of being peaceful? Keep in mind there are 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, and very few if any speak up against these Muslim radicals. Shameful, positively shameful.
Who has Ted’s ear?
In response to “Go, Ted”: Ted Cruz is “listening to the people”? Ninety percent of Americans want better gun control. Does Cruz agree? No, but he does “listen to the people.” His state of Texas has the highest percentage of uninsured people in the country. Which people is he listening to in Texas -- the uninsured? Of course, he is very concerned about the poor, those with pre-existing medical conditions, especially kids. Oh, yes, did he disagree with his pals when it came to eliminating help with meals for the poor kids in Texas or nationally? Of course not, but he “listens to the people.”
Sean Fountain advertises that he advocates for seniors in Methuen. Doesn’t he know that our aging population’s most pressing concern is health? It’s a real contradiction in light of the fact that he voted to eliminate the health director position. Seniors, know who really represents your interests. Mr. Fountain is too busy representing his friends’ interests.
Enough is enough
Timberlane is still without their police officer. Put a school rersource officer in the high school. If as you say, chief, no one else wants to do it, then put the old one back in. Sounded like she never wanted out in the first place. Seems like a simple solution to me.
