Ken Martin, the director of the Methuen Housing Authority, has been the recipient of malicious and politically-motivated attacks over the last few months.
Martin serves as director of both the Methuen Housing Authority (a full-time position) and the Ayer Housing Authority (a part-time job). In addition, Martin serves as chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Dracut Housing Authority (a non-paid, part-time job that he has been elected to by Dracut residents for the past 25 years). -

I found Shawn Patten's letter on Salem union contracts (Feb. 7) at odds with the real picture. I am sure he is just trying to do his job, but he has presented a rather myopic view. I suspect I feel like most of Salem relative to the belief that the vast majority of government workers are hard working, decent folks trying to do the best job they can. I am particularly respectful of first responders and teachers. But that is not at issue here. - Sound Off
