Obama has wrong views on abortion

To the editor:

As the Democratic National Convention unfolded, we saw before us a man who may possibly be the next president of the United States. By all accounts, Barack Obama, his wife, Michelle and children appear to be the model for the American family. But what can we really expect from the next man who would be president, Barack Obama?

In a word, a vote for Obama puts the very lives of children in danger. For the past 35 years, our country has allowed the murder of unborn children by abortion using methods barbaric and repugnant to the human mind. Our once most prized possessions, children, have been eliminated from the face of the Earth to the tune of 50 million unborn victims.

Obama believes in every type of abortion and infanticide (even opposing legislation in Illinois which would have assisted babies born after a botched abortion). Obama is truly a radical on life and family issues and, if elected, would be the most pro-abortion president in our country's history.

Is this still America the beautiful, or have we somehow dreadfully lost our way? Children in danger deserve urgency. The real fate of America is in the voters' hands. Most Americans we hope would think it is wrong to deliberately kill an innocent person. Can one not logically conclude that an unborn human being is an innocent human person? It follows, then, that an innocent person is killed through an act of abortion.

When approaching the ballot box in November, I ask that as Americans we reflect on how much longer we can allow the blood of the innocent to be on our hands.
