To the editor:
Tom Sullivan should be the first of your votes for Haverhill City Council on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Let’s get a few things out of the way. Tom Sullivan is a longtime friend of mine. He is my high school classmate (HHS 1979). He is a trusted advisor. He is the cousin of my wife, Lisa. I’m pleased to say that he is somewhat responsible for that. Some writers neglect to tell you that kind of stuff.
Tom has been dealing with our budget and other quality of life issues such as the Hunking School replacement and long term planning and maintenance of all our public facilities, with integrity, independence, creativity and critical thinking. He understands that recruiting and retaining good citizens makes us a better city. He is an outstanding elected official and Haverhill is the better for his service.
Tom is a local attorney with years of experience in public service and civic affairs. He has worked hard to improve the Winnekenni and Plug Pond Recreation Areas as they are truly Haverhill’s greatest regional treasures. He has done so by creating a first-ever action plan infusing new life, new thinking and new resources into the impressive network of our parks and recreational facilities. He is also the past chairman of the VFW Santa Parade, established by his dad, the late John T. Sullivan, and a group of dedicated veterans from Lorraine Post 29 VFW in 1964. Tom is still devoted to the parade, serving currently as vice-chairman. This is the longest running annual event and holiday tradition in the city of Haverhill.
Tom Sullivan has been committed to the betterment of our community. Tom always listens to all sides and makes common sense and frank decisions. Tom Sullivan has always been there for us when we have needed help from our government. On Tuesday, Nov. 5, we should be there for Tom.
Tom Sullivan has earned our vote for City Council. Please join me in supporting his mission to foster positive growth and an improved quality of life for all Haverhill residents.
Please vote for Councilor Tom Sullivan.
