Sound Off

The Eagle-Tribune

---- — Same page

Look, for heaven’s sake, if the right-wing extremists are going to continue to lie, can they please do the rest of us a favor and at least get on the same page and tell the same lies. Wouldn’t it make sense for them to have one, centralized website or information source so that they’re at least on the same page? Daily, they keep tripping over their tongues, spewing out erroneous versions and misrepresentations of talking points that were lies to begin with. Do they ever go back and read what they post, or listen to themselves? Clearly they must not — otherwise they’d see how ridiculous they sound from one day to the next.

Bush’s war

To Thursday’s comments about “Ancient history” regarding the Bush administration: Do you really think it’s ancient history to the families of the 4,000 dead and 10,000 wounded soldiers that President Bush deployed to Iraq for his own personal war?

Third party

The liberals say the conservatives screwed the country up and the conservatives say the same of the liberals. Let’s face it, they both have done their share over the years. They prove what I have been saying for years we need a strong third party. If a problem comes up with three, there will be a vote of 2 to 1 and it will be solved one way or another. I am much older than any of them and have seen it all, therefore they will not like to hear this. Someday there will be a third party and also a shorter work week. The 40-hour week will go the way of the horse and buggy. Wait until they find out that we are over 300 million strong and millions need jobs and with no manufacturing, people with menial jobs will be forming unions all over the country. Like I said, I have seen it all and you can take that to the bank. It won’t happen overnight but it will happen.

Don’t be mad

OK, accomplishments by President Obama: the killing of Osama bin Laden; the ending of he Iraq war; Obamacare; the overthrow of dictator Moammar Gadhafi; the growing of the U.S. economy. Republicans hate President Obama because he has done more work and more good than his predecessor so the Republicans are mad. Don’t be mad, Republicans.

Told you

So the “highly informed voter” believes because Kathleen Sebelius says it is “illegal” for her to use Obamacare it must be true. So if I say it is “illegal” for me to use it, will it be true also? I wonder how it became illegal for her? As the true effect of the Affordable Care Act becomes a reality for those of us that will be forced to foot the bill while those who are part of the current administration do not, the Republicans will be able to take a deserved “we told you so.”

Blame yourselves

I wish people would stop blaming elected officials for having a lousy life.

Oh my God! How could it be? Obama is under attack from all directions including the mainstream media. How do Obama ideologues counter? By falling back on worn out, age-old attacks on George Bush, of course. Excusing current bad acts by referring to perceived historical bad acts is no defense at all. But whenever the left has no tools at all in its defense belt, it pulls out a toothless saw. How pathetic, how irrelevant today!
