To “Our money, too”: Just because you have the right to advocate for how our government should spend our tax dollars doesn’t mean it’s the smartest decision. You sound like a Republican basher. Let me tell you, I was a Democrat until I smartened up. There’s an old saying that if you’re under 30 and vote Republican, you haven’t got a heart, and if your over 30 and vote Democratic, you haven’t got a brain.
Unions today do not help the country. Now we see their handiwork in the schools. Unions fussing for more money for only 180 days of work, while the rest of the world works 12 months out of the year. For shame! And yes, you should be paid less for poor reviews and even nicked if you’re incapable of teaching properly. That’s how it is in the real world. Fifty years ago, an 8th-grade education was worth what a college education seems to be worth today. Today, 12-graders can’t manage simple arithmetic, geography, proper English or even enough cursive to read the Declaration of Independence. The United States of America is lowering the bar so much that no one possesses the extraordinary skills that were everyday a few generations ago.
To the people complaining about the road paving on Route 125 in Haverhill: 1. The city is not responsible for road construction. 2. Would you rather the roads be rutted with potholes? Get real. 3. And the winner of this week’s witlessness award: comparing a line of cars to “that bad” Western Electric traffic. I’ll bet there are at least 10,000 former employees and their families and the merchants and towns they supported who would love to have the “problem” of Western Electric traffic.
President Obama announced on Wednesday he is going to reveal his economic agenda. Well, hallelujah! THAT only took 4.5 years! And he is squeezing it in between vacations and golf. How considerate.
